Luncheon and Forum to Discuss Climate Change

parts/content-body.any.php

WHAT: The Southeast Coastal Climate Network will host two events, Thursday, August 28, to discuss the impacts of sea level rise to the Charleston, S.C. area. A VIP luncheon and public evening forum will focus on common sense solutions to reduce the threats of global warming facing the Lowcountry. Highlights of these events include moderated panel discussions and the release of a brand new video. The local debut of the new film, “Rising Seas: Challenges and Opportunities for the Lowcountry,” produced by Open Dome Productions, incorporates never-before-seen Google Earth imagery developed by Architecture 2030. These images show the vulnerability of Charleston, Mount Pleasant, and neighboring barrier island communities to sea level rise caused by climate change. The Southern Alliance for Clean Energy (www.cleanenergy.org) developed this sea level rise awareness video on behalf of the Southeast Coastal Climate Network. Video production and event planning have been achieved in partnership with the Coastal Conservation League, Carolina Climate Network, South Carolina Wildlife Federation and Architecture 2030.
