Call Today, Save WNC Wind!
August 6, 2009
CALL YOUR SENATORS TODAY AND TELL THEM NOT TO SHUT THE DOOR ON WIND ENERGY IN WESTER NORTH CAROLINA!
The state of North Carolina Senate is set to cast a vote on Senate Bill 1068, "Permitting Wind Energy Facilities” that may potentially eliminate 2/3 of the potential wind resource on privately owned lands in the state of North Carolina.
While there is general agreement that wind is appropriate on the coast, there is serious debate among Senators and Representatives from Western North Carolina about whether wind power should come to the mountains, and some legislators are trying to enact a virtual ban on large-scale wind production in the west.
We need your help in asking our Senators to take the time to work out their differences on large-scale wind production in the mountains of North Carolina, and to support the Goss amendment to move forward responsible wind permitting in the coast without hastily banning large wind in the mountains of North Carolina.WE NEED YOUR HELP – send an email TODAY! Key Legislators to Call:
Senator Marc Basnight: (919) 733-6854 Marc.Basnight@ncleg.net Senator Charlie Albertson: (919) 733-5705 Charlie.Albetson@ncleg.net
You can also easily send an email right now to important leaders on this bill.
It is absolutely critical that we move forward with a responsible policy for wind development in coastal North Carolina without shutting the door on clean energy and economic development in the mountains. Phone calls are the best way to directly voice your opinion and make your voices heard!
