to tell EPA your concerns about coal ash waste!
Next Wednesday, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is returning to the region of the Kingston coal ash disaster to hear the public’s opinions on how to regulate coal ash. The EPA is proposing to either regulate coal ash as a special hazardous waste or to continue ignoring this serious human health and environmental risk. On October 27th the EPA will hold the last of a series of national public meetings on coal ash waste in Knoxville, Tennessee at the downtown Marriott Hotel.
Please register here TODAY to attend the public hearing!

This final public hearing promises to be an extraordinarily important opportunity for EPA staff to hear directly from victims of the Kingston disaster, as well as nationally recognized experts in human health, economics, policy and environmental science. Just as important, however, are the voices of concerned citizens like you who want their soil, air, water and their bodies protected from ash contamination. Now is our chance to make sure coal ash is treated the way it should be – as hazardous waste. This public hearing is the perfect opportunity. The October 27th Knoxville hearing will be at the Knoxville Marriott, 500 Hill Avenue SE.
Speaking times are already filling up, with only the 3pm and 6pm EST slots still available. REGISTER NOW to reserve your speaking time before all the slots are taken. EPA will accept walk-ins at the hearing, so please do come even if you can’t register for a spot.
