Power and Water at Risk

parts/content-body.any.php

The Southern Alliance for Clean Energy (SACE) continues its webinar series with a presentation brownsferry.pngwith the Union of Concerned Scientists on Power and Water at Risk. Our webinars are your opportunity to directly engage with SACE staff and learn about emerging clean energy technologies, opportunities and issues that SACE engages in everyday. SACE is excited to use this technology as a way to connect with our members and share the most up-to-date advances in the clean energy field.

For the August webinar in SACE’s monthly webinar series, the Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS) will discuss their most recent report, Power and Water at Risk, which further delves into the connections between our energy use and our water resources. Water resources are under increasing pressure and in some instances have been unable to meet power plant cooling needs.

As our demand for electricity continues to rise, the water dependence of many power plants puts the electricity sector, water resources, and other water users at growing risk. Hear more about the UCS initiative “Energy and Water in a Warming World” (EW3) from Erika Spanger-Siegfried, senior analyst with UCS and co-manager of EW3, along with SACE’s high risk energy choices program director, Sara Barczak. We invite you to join us on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 from 11:30 – 12:30 pm EDT for a briefing and open discussion.
