SACE | Southern Alliance for Clean Energy

Southeast Student Renewable Energy Conference

October 5-7, 2012

We’re excited to officially announce the dates and location of the 8th Annual Southeast Student Renewable Energy Conference (SSREC).This year’s SSREC willbe held October 5-7 at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) in Tallahassee, Florida. SSREC will be held one month before the 2012 Elections in Florida’s Capitol. Through the spring and summer, youth across the Southeast have been working to clean up the dirty south by holding our candidates and elected officials accountable to the Millennial Generation. In October we’ll join hundreds of young organizers together at the SSREC to demand that our politicians stop letting dirty energy money pollute our democracy, and invest in a clean energy future instead. Together we’ll develop the skills necessary to shift our region to a just, sustainable energy economy.

Since 2004, SSREC has played a critical role in building the youth climate movement in the Southeast. Now in its eighth year, the conference has inspired and empowered thousands of young organizers and has helped our movement win huge victories across the region.
