Let’s Tell Obama:
We Need to Move Forward on Climate!
Tomorrow morning, President Obama begins his post-State of the Union tour with a stop right here in Asheville.
This is our opportunity to directly let the President know it is time for strong and decisive action to move forward on climate!
Historic hot temperatures, droughts, superstorms and raging wild fires in 2012 leave no doubt that climate disruption is here. President Obama must limit carbon pollution from our nation’s dirty power plants and reject the Keystone XL pipeline to move our country beyond coal and natural gas and fire up our clean energy economy. His legacy will rest squarely on his response, resolve, and leadership in solving the climate crisis.
The President arrives in Western North Carolina tomorrow morning to speak about jobs at the Linamar manufacturing plant and the importance of entrepreneurship to our region.
His visit is a great opportunity to raise our voices for clean energy jobs that can help solve the climate crisis and jump-start our economy! Without a stable climate, there can be no stability for our economy or our communities.
We will be gathering at Ingles parking lot on Long Shoals Road with signs and banners, and will then line the roads to the entrance of the venue – Please join us!
