Wind Energy Day at the Georgia State Capitol

Atlanta, Ga. (March 14, 2013) – The Southern Alliance for Clean Energy (SACE) will host a Wind Energy Day on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at the Georgia State Capitol sponsored by state Senator Lester Jackson (D-2). This event will provide an opportunity to update legislators and the public on Georgia’s wind energy resource potential, state wind activities, offshore wind turbine technology, and manufacturing and supply chain opportunities for the state of Georgia. “I am honored to take part in “Wind Energy Day” at the State Capitol,” said Sen. Jackson. “It is vital to engage energy experts as we continue to look for sustainable alternatives to fossil fuels. The event will offer great insight to the significant economic impact wind and other forms of renewable energy could have in my home of Savannah as well as Georgia as a whole. I look forward to working with the various stakeholders to ensure Georgia has renewable energy sources for future generations.” A resolution in support of wind energy will be read at 11:30 am in the Senate Chambers.
