Voice support for a solar project near you!
The Madison County Board of Zoning Appeals (Jackson, TN) will be holding a public meeting at 11:00am on Wednesday, February 26, 2014, to consider approving the development of a 20 MW-dc solar power plant in Denmark, TN. The project needs vocal support from the community.
Please take a moment to send a letter to Zoning Board officials and if possible, attend the meeting (address below).
The project, known as Providence Solar Center, was secured by HelioSage Energy through TVA’s Renewable Standard Offer program. It would be one of the largest solar plants in the Southeast, requiring 100-150 construction jobs. Once developed, it would contribute over $60,000/year in tax revenue, thirty times greater than what’s currently generated by the property.
The “solar farm” would be harvesting the sun with minimal environmental impacts, while generating enough emissions-free electricity to power over 3,300 homes annually.
Send your message NOW and attend the meeting on Wednesday. Let your public officials know that you support this use of private property!
