Media Advisory: Teleconference on the Path to North Carolina’s Clean Energy Reality

parts/content-body.any.php

WHAT:

National and regional experts in clean energy development will host a press conference to discuss the opportunities for North Carolina to expand on the state’s already notable clean energy achievements. The teleconference will feature North-Carolina specific information from the Solar Energy Industries Association’s annual Solar Means Business report, which is being released on October 15. Media will hear how the state’s rapid growth in solar is making a local installer’s business flourish, and about the potential for new wind energy development in North Carolina and how it can fuel a strategy to meet the Clean Power Plan announced earlier this year by the Environmental Protection Agency.

WHY:

North Carolina has quietly become one of the nation’s leaders in the development of clean energy. Companies invested $787 million in solar projects last year, and the state ranks 4th nationally in total installed solar capacity. And now more than ever, it’s critical to understand how renewable energy resources like solar and wind are reshaping the energy landscape in the state and the nation, driving job creation and economic development in ways that are crucial for our prosperity. This teleconference is an opportunity to hear from the experts about the details of this transformation.

WHO:
