Memphis: TVA Public Meeting on Draft 2015 Integrated Resource Plan
The Tennessee Valley Authority will host a public meeting on April 15 in Memphis, TN to present the findings of their draft 2015 Integrated Resource Plan, which outlines how TVA will meet energy demand over the next 20 years. Although TVA has taken positive steps in the right direction, the draft plan ultimately represents a missed opportunity to help TVA customers save energy, lower electricity bills, and foster a robust, clean energy economy in the Valley.
TVA will allow for Q/A during its meeting and will accept written comments, both in-person at the meeting and throughout the public comment period which runs until April 27. Please plan to attend this important event and make your voice heard!
In advance of TVA’s event, SACE is partnering with Sierra Club to host a community workshop to educate the public about what’s at stake in the 2015 IRP. Both groups were involved in the IRP planning process as members of various IRP stakeholder groups and will share their thoughts about how TVA can improve its plan by increasing its investments in low-cost energy options, like energy efficiency and renewable energy resources.
Please attend this community education event from 6-7:30 CT, April 6 at First Baptist Church-Broad and learn how you can support the growth of clean energy resources in the Tennessee Valley.
