Congress-Bob-InglisUniversity of Georgia is hosting two days of events focusing on the politics and economics of climate change, featuring former Congressman Bob Inglis.

Event #1: Film Screening of Merchants of Doubt
Mon. September 14, 2015, 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm – Room 101 Miller Learning Center
“Merchants of Doubt” is a 2015 documentary that chronicles the activities of those who use dubious science or scientific credentials to create confusion about public threats such as tobacco use, the safety of pharmaceuticals, and the reality of climate change. Q&A with former U.S. Congressman Bob Inglis to follow the film. This event is limited to 300 students.

Event #2: University Lecture: “The Climate Conscience of a Conservative” by Bob Inglis

Event #3: Demosthenian Literary Society Debate on “What’s the best economic argument for sound climate policy?”
Tuesday, Sept. 15, 7:30 pm – 9:00 pm
at Demosthenian Hall
Debaters will include UGA professor Jeff Dorfman and former U.S. Congressman Bob Inglis.

About Congressman Bob Inglis:
From from 1993 to 1999 and again from 2005 to 2011 Inglis represented South Carolina’s 4th district in U.S. House of Representatives. In 2010 he lost his seat largely because of his outspoken comments about the need to take action on climate change. In 2012, Inglis launched the Energy and Enterprise Initiative, a nationwide public engagement campaign promoting conservative and free-enterprise solutions to energy and climate challenges.
