Santee Cooper Public Comment Meeting
Santee Cooper has proposed a solar program that unjustifiably penalizes solar power customers, so we’re inviting you to push back at the upcoming Santee Cooper public comment meeting.
Santee Cooper’s solar proposal, Distributed Generation Rider “DG-16,” would be one of the most punitive solar programs in the country if adopted, including additional fees just for solar customers and an unfair crediting system for power provided to the grid by solar system owners.
What Santee Cooper is essentially saying with this action is that consumers don’t have the right to reduce the amount of power they buy from the company without being penalized. These actions are particularly egregious in light of South Carolina’s recent progress forward on solar with the overwhelmingly supported solar bill, Act 236.
Join us at Santee Cooper’s public comment meeting on October 16! Tell them not to shade out solar!
