Energy Policy Research Associate
Outcome-oriented analyst needed to conduct energy policy research for non-profit coalition. Position will focus on energy issues in Florida and may include some work in other southeastern states. Analyst will primarily study and recommend strategies to achieve significant increase in energy efficiency, but may also engage on renewable energy, and other strategies to reduce global warming pollution from the energy sector. Solid writing, public speaking, analytic and computer skills are necessary; experience with state agencies, decision-makers, media, and non-profit advocacy desired, Florida-specific experience a bonus. Advanced degree strongly preferred but willing to consider strong candidates with a bachelors degree only. Competitive non-profit salary w/ option of full benefits. Join the Southern Energy Network, a project of the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy, fighting global warming and supporting student and youth climate and energy work in the Southeast. We're a founding member of the Energy Action Coalition and are running the coalition's Campus Climate Challenge campaign here in the South. We are building up state networks to provide a student support network and leverage student power beyond campus to pressure utility, federal, state and local policies to include increased energy efficiency and renewable energy!

Web Site Assistant
Southern Alliance for Clean Energy (SACE) is accepting applications for a Web Site Intern. The Intern position is flexible and is based in Asheville, NC. The Intern will be responsible for:
Position hours:
* 5-10 per week
* Number of weeks: Flexible
Applicants should have excellent writing skills, strong computer skills, attention to detail, experience with html code and back-end web maintenance and a commitment to health and environmental protection. Position available immediately
- Working with SACE's current web maintenance consultant to update the site regularly
- Routinely review the website for typos, necessary updates, enhancements
- Communicating to SACE staff certain web-related needs and updates
- Drafting web-ready documents and language to post on the site
- Identifying photos and images for use in issue-related areas of the site
Position hours:

Communications Intern
Southern Alliance for Clean Energy (SACE) is accepting applications for a communications intern for placement in our Asheville office. The intern will be responsible for:
* 5-10 per week
* Number of Weeks: Flexible
Applicants should have strong writing skills and excellent grammar. An interest in public relations, journalism, and/or public outreach is recommended. Layout experience a plus.
- Tracking and managing articles that mention Southern Alliance for Clean Energy or relevant subject matter.
- Assist the communications director in writing communications to our members and supporters including our monthly on-line newsletter, quarterly hard copy newsletter, and periodic action alerts.

Energy/Environmental Intern
Southern Alliance for Clean Energy is accepting applications for an Energy / Environmental Intern for placement in our Atlanta or Savannah offices. The Intern will be responsible for:
Position hours:
* Approximately 20 hours per week
* Approximately 12 weeks
* possible flexibility on number of hours and weeks
Applicants should have excellent writing skills, strong computer skills, experience with research, demonstrate an ability to develop professional presentations (such as PowerPoint), and a commitment to health and environmental protection. Position available immediately.
- Researching and compiling documentation on water quality concerns
- Researching agricultural, biomass, and hydrogen production opportunities
- Preparing materials and presentations for organizational program areas
- Providing administrative assistance
- Working under the supervision of the Safe Energy Director

Southern Alliance for Clean Energy (SACE) is accepting applications for a Solar Technology Intern for placement in our Knoxville office. The Intern will be responsible for:
Position hours:
* 4-20 hours a week (flexible depending on the needs of the Intern)
* Must be willing to make a regular schedule
Applicants should have commitment to advancing renewable energy technology. Position available immediately.
- Helping organize the Tennessee Solar Building Tours (during October)
- Helping with our coalition work to develop Zero Energy Houses with Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL)
- Working on media promotion and technical seminars for the Generation Partners program

Campus Clean Energy Campaign Intern
Southern Alliance for Clean Energy (SACE) is accepting applications for a University/ College Program Intern for placement in our Knoxville office. The Intern will be responsible for:
Position hours:
* Hours per week: 10 -20
* Number of weeks: 12 -16
Applicants should have excellent writing skills, strong computer skills, attention to detail, an interest in web-based research, and a commitment to health and environmental protection. Position available immediately.
- Tracking developments within Energy Action (www.energyaction.net), a coalition group with over 20 partner organizations working on clean energy solutions at the student youth level. This position would be a delegate to represent Southern Alliance for Clean Energy, a partner organization of the coalition
- Participating in conference calls, list-serve and blog discussions, and otherwise be an active party in the decision-making and construction of program materials for the Campus Pillar - one of the four (4) pillars of focus
- Report progress and decisions to Southern Alliance for Clean Energy Campus Program Coordinator, Nick Algee.
