SACE Comments on TVA’s Allen Aeroderivative Combustion Turbine Project
On April 28, SACE filed comments to the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) about TVA’s Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for the proposed construction and operation of six fossil gas-fired aeroderivative combustion turbines (Aero CTs) at the existing Allen Combustion Turbine (ACT) site located in Memphis, Tennessee. Sections include:
- TVA Did Not Evaluate Alternatives
- TVA’s Rejection of Renewables Is Not Based on Current Data
- Battery Storage Can Fulfill Purpose and Need
- TVA’s Proposal Will Needlessly Exacerbate Community Harm
