Knoxville’s 2011 Solar Home Tour is October 22. SACE is excited about this year’s annual tour, and welcomes the recent expansion of solar energy development in east Tennessee. I am especially excited to offer my home as one of the stops along the tour.
Our objective is to have a net-zero home, and between our many upgrades, we are nearing our goal. We installed our solar photovoltaic system on our 1963-built home in 2009. I have updated information on annual performance and a breakdown of our other retrofits and upgrades with links in this factsheet. One new thing this year is we have installed a Blink Level 2 home charging station, and SACE has leased a Nissan Leaf for work travel. Driving the Leaf has been easy and fun reaffirming my confidence that this new clean technology will take hold.
