The City of Knoxville should be proud of Mayor Madeline Rogero for her efforts to institute and advance energy efficiency! Last Friday, at the 24th annual Energy Efficiency Forum held in Washington, D.C., Mayor Rogero was awarded an Energy Leadership Award at the National Press Club for her exemplary leadership in instituting and advancing energy efficiency in the United States and abroad.

Mayor Rogero received the Public Service Award, which recognizes a current or former public education official who has motivated action to addressing efficiency across their operations and has served as an advocate of efficiency. She received the award for implementing urban development policies and programs aimed at enhancing the quality of life and environmental attractiveness of Knoxville.

We hope others in the region will follow her example championing this work. SACE congratulates and applauds Mayor Rogero for her leadership on energy efficiency!
