Drive an Electric Vehicle This Weekend for National Plug In Day

Guest Blog | September 27, 2013 | Clean Transportation, Electric Vehicles

Want more first hand experience with an electric vehicle?  Well, this weekend is a great time to get behind the wheel and try one out for yourself during National Plug In Day.  Events are happening all around the region in Atlanta, Charlotte, Huntsville and multiple locations in Tennessee and Florida.  A full listing can be found here.

In case you missed it, please check out some of our recent blogs on EVs as well, including Are electric vehicles REAL cars? and more.

We burn roughly 121 billion gallons of oil in our passenger cars and trucks in the U.S. every year and we send nearly a $1 billion overseas to pay for this oil. Switching to plug-in electric vehicles is one of the biggest steps we can take to reduce America’s dependence on oil and cut dangerous air pollution. Maintenance for EVs is also much less than for gasoline vehicles and EVs require no oil changes.  Less cost=more money in your pocket!

Get out there, drive, learn, and maybe even buy a new EV. Happy Driving!
