Meet Georgia’s Public Service Commission Candidates before you vote in the January 5 runoff! In this town hall, Public Service Commission (PSC) candidates Lauren “Bubba” McDonald and Daniel Blackman will share ideas and plans for Georgia’s energy future. Many Georgians don’t realize they have the power to vote for our state’s energy future, so please share this event with your friends and family!

The five Public Service Commissioners set electricity rates that directly affect Georgia families and businesses. They also determine what resources (coal, fossil gas, solar, etc.) public utilities can use to produce energy to serve all of us.

The many organizations sponsoring this virtual Town Hall are concerned about Georgia’s ability to attract and retain new businesses and talent in the highly competitive U.S. economy. High energy bills and low investment in energy efficiency affect business profitability and stymie the growth of high-paying jobs sorely needed by our state’s families.

In addition, the increasing intensity and frequency of storms and other natural disasters highlight the need for Georgia to diversify its energy generation in order to be reliable, resilient, and cost-effective.
Moderated by Mandy Mahoney, candidates Lauren “Bubba” McDonald and Daniel Blackman and will discuss energy policies, equitable solutions, and ideas to turn Georgia into a “Just Energy Powerhouse.”
