WEBINAR: Energy Efficiency in the Southeast Report

  • This event has passed.

January 22, 2020 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Southeast electric utilities and regulators continue to under-invest in energy efficiency. Instead, utilities continue to run old, expensive, carbon polluting electric power plants and a few are even proposing to build new ones. As a result, the region substantially lags behind others in utilizing this low-cost clean energy resource. If utilities and regulators continue to ignore and block efficiency measures, customers in the Southeast will continue to pay among the highest energy bills (not rates) in the country and electric power plants will continue emitting excessive carbon emissions that exacerbate the climate crisis.

In the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy’s (SACE) “Energy Efficiency in the Southeast 2019 Annual Report,” our policy analysts look at recent utility and state-level energy efficiency trends and identify policies and practices impacting energy efficiency savings across the Southeast.

Join us for a webinar Wednesday, January 22, at 1 PM ET, where we outline these trends and conclude that a cost-effective, clean energy future utilizing energy efficiency as a resource will reduce the need for fossil fuels and cut energy waste — all while lowering customers bills. In addition to reviewing the report, we will provide time for questions.

Prior to the webinar, the full report will be released Wednesday, January 22nd here.
